The inquisitive 8th graders went to the Harlem DNA Lab to learn more about DNA and genetics while solving a crime.  A forensic scientist led the students through a walk-through of the crime, sharing evidence gathered at the scene.  The students then worked in pairs, examined the information, analyzed evidence, and thought critically to solve the forensic mystery.  They tested their hypotheses using gel electrophoresis to extract DNA then presented their findings.
