The Christmas Concert hosted by Mr. Gomes, our beloved music teacher, was a success! It was great to see the school community together in perfect harmony.
OLP students ate, drank and were merry during the annual Christmas party! Students enjoyed pizza lunches, partook of endless holiday treats, and visited Santa’s Workshop. It was a great day!
The 8th graders went to the Harlem DNA Lab to learn about DNA while solving a crime. The students worked in pairs, analyzed evidence, and thought critically to solve the forensic mystery, then presented their findings.
The 6th grade field trip to the Harlem DNA Lab was a great success! Thanks again to Ms. Koch for planning another awesome, hands-on science experience for the middle school.
The kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classes went to see animated movie, The Star, and had an enjoyable time. It was a great way to celebrate Advent as a community.
Dr. Katz and the 7th grade spent the day exploring history-rich Lower Manhattan, as each student presented his/her research at the stops along the way.
Sr. Diane accepted a Blackboard Award for excellence in education on behalf of Our Lady of Pompeii School at a special ceremony at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), hosted by New York Family magazine.
From December 4th-20th, OLP's Student Government will be collecting items for the imprisoned. Items will be sent to a correctional facility where the Apostles of the Sacred Heart minister. Please share the Love of the Heart of Christ this Advent season!
