The OLP Early Childhood Program is on the 2nd floor of the building. We are using this space to provide a loving and caring learning environment for our children. We will have a Sensory Room which will provide students with sand and water work with a focus on fine-motor skills. We will have an Imagination Playground room where students can explore, build and practice using their gross-motor skills. The PreK classroom will incorporate both the PreK 3 and PreK 4 classrooms to allow for a variety of specialized learning centers.
Special subjects for Pre-K include the following: Art, Library, Spanish, Gym (sneakers are a must!), and Music! Each special occurs one time per week. Of course, all of these topics are also integrated into our classroom curriculum as well.
Our Pre-K students get out and explore our neighborhood often. Additional trips are also scheduled throughout the year.
Kindergarten will cover all the content areas with an added emphasis on Literacy skills.
Computer, Gym, Art, Music, Spanish and Library class will be added to the curriculum as well.

Homework is an important part of the instructional program since it reinforces learning. Homework should be sent to school in your child’s folder each day. Poem Folders will be sent home, as well. Your child will “finger point” while reading each word. This will assist them with their word recognition skills.
